Happy Spring! The school year is flying by and I know we are all looking forward to warmer weather. In an effort to keep focused and close the school year out strong, I want to recognize how much we, as a district, have accomplished and what we would like to achieve. Students at all levels perform better academically, maintain more positive attitudes, and have higher aspirations when parents are informed and are actively involved in the education process. As you know, we are preparing for our third year of PARCC testing and we are committed to providing accurate information to parents and families in our community. Starting with the Class of 2021, all NJ students will have to pass the PARCC tests to graduate from high school. By taking the test now, in grades 3-6, our students will gain confidence and necessary preparation for this graduation requirement. When a student does not participate in the annual state test, we all lose out on valuable information. We are committed to student achievement, and the PARCC test raises the bar for our students to ensure they are on the path to success. I am confident that with the quality instruction delivered by our dedicated educators, and your support, our students can meet and exceed these expectations. I encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher or building principal with any questions you may have about the PARCC test or your child’s progress.
Lastly and as always, please visit our website for upcoming events happening in our schools.
